I was born and brought up in Mumbai. Since childhood i have leaned towards art and creativity. I studied Commercial art and then did a short course in Interior Design to help me in my career options. I went on to be a visualizer and currently work as a Visual Merchandiser, in a retail company. A full time job does make it difficult to find the time to paint. But it also challenges me to push my limits and in doing so, I rediscover the joy of painting, time and again. Those few hours snatched late in the evening, early in the morning or on weekends are something I always look forward to, when I can immerse myself in the magic of painting and in the rediscovery of the wonder of the world around me.
My current explorations with watercolour began in 2008, when I participated in a workshop under the reputed and brillant water colourist Milind Mullick. I instantly fell in love with the medium. I love the unpredictability that watercolour brings; its vividness and transparency. It is a medium which teaches you to be spontaneous and patient.
As an avid traveller, I have been lucky enough to visit different parts of the world. And in each place, I have come across scenes and vistas that have not just rekindled my love of painting, but have also pushed my creative boundaries, adding unforgettable twists and turns in my artistic journey. I love the stillness that painting brings to me, I love being on this ever learning journey.
